Pimping Leogane

Let’s take Léogâne in its poor to condition and restoring it as well as customizing it to fit the needs of its children, to serve as models for other cities, and to attract tourists and foreign investments.

1. First off, let’s regulate the taxi moto services by urging drivers to be licensed, register their bike, attend proper safety training, and wear at least one (1) safety gear when on the roads. Passengers will also be required to wear a helmet.

2. Let’s encourage school principals to establish an agricultural program in their curricula through which pupils will be taught the basic notions and the importance of a Green Haiti.

3. Let’s help the city mayors in evicting vendors who set their camps at the entrance of the city. Let’s brainstorm to find a suitable place for them to sell their products. Better yet, let’s improve the flea market.

5. Let’s renovate the historical forts such as Fort Kanpan, La Tounel Gwoso, Grot Belloc, Grot Anacaona, etc, let’s clean and renovate our beaches, and let’s set up a tourism office to give information to tourists about the city’s marvels.

6. Let’s promote Rara beyond the national boundaries as the only true Haitian cultural events.

7. Let’s go to the outlying sections to build schools so the children won’t have to walk five miles to come to the city for their education. Let’s educate our farmers the right ways to plant and harvest most out of their crops.

8. Let’s invest in school libraries, computer labs, and up-to-date books so our students can be in fashion with students from other countries.

9. Let’s support the local government in everything they do so all Léogânais can marshal together toward the development of the city

10. Let’s do “just that” so the rest of Haiti can catch to modernization and globalization.

Let’s pimp the city of Anacaona to become a ride without taking it for a ride. Each Léogânais will be involved to bring changes into the city. Each effort will shape a better city.
